Yay! You're all booked in.

WELCOME

I want to give you a big, warm welcome and tell you I am so excited to begin working on our project! We’re about to create something meaningful and beautiful for your business.

Koko-Web-Studio-Simply-Shopify-Welcome

In order to give you my best work I’m going to need a little help from you. This page will tell you exactly what I need you to do before we begin working together and provide you with a few tips and tricks to help you help ME provide my best work for you.

Other tools that we will be using.

dubsado

My go-to client management system. This is your client portal, where you’ll be able to review your contract, pay your invoices and fill-out forms during the project.

asana

Now that you’re booked in my schedule, we’ll stop using email to have our conversation and we’ll start using my project management tool, Asana.

A project management tool is a secure space online where we have conversations, share files, set reminders, and create to-do lists.

Whereas files often get lost when I’m managing projects through email, nothing gets lost or forgotten in Asana. It’s the simplest way to keep your project organized and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible!

Don’t worry – you won’t need to pay for this tool and it’s not hard to use.

Click here to watch the 3-minute tutorial video below on how to use it.

google meet

We’ll use Google Meet for all our consultation calls. Google Meet is great because it allows us to see each other (almost like a real coffee date!) and I can share my screen if needed.

google drive

I use it to store all my project files. At the end of the project, I’ll send you a link to download your files and store them in a safe place as the link is only available for 30 days after project end.

Here’s what I need to get the project started.

01. START PINNING ON PINTEREST

02. COMPLETE the brand GOALS & strategy form

This form will help me understand your goals and needs for this project! It will also help you understand how we will structure the website and will give you an insight of how you can write your content (tone, message, purpose), and what sort of imagery you might need. You will find this in your ‘Pre-work’ task in Asana, to which you will get access to.

03. BOOK YOUR STRATEGY SESSION

pinterest-kokowebstudio

Use this link to book your web design strategy session. Plan for the call to be around 1 hour. This is the first step in the design process, and will build the solid foundation for your website and a clear direction to move forward with. Be sure to book this call for your project start date, the first Monday of your design weeks!

04. CREATE WEBSITE CONTENT

Chances are you are not a copywriter, and while you know your business/ product/ service inside out, writing may not be your strong suit OR you just don’t have the time to be writing out your website content line by line.

That’s where the Content Checklist and Workbook come in handy! It helps you plan your website content and can either be used as the foundations of writing your website content or is a great starting point to send to a copywriter if you do not have the time/skillset to write your own.

Feedback.

Timelines and Process.

I really appreciate simple and straightforward feedback. It helps me clearly understand your thoughts and make the right changes to your project.

Here are a few tips on providing awesome feedback:

It is very important for me to work closely with you during this creative journey. In order for us to optimize our time together I’ve implemented a strategy that will allow us to work in an organized and sustainable way.

At different stages throughout the project, you may be asked to provide feedback on design concepts, layouts, images etc. Providing feedback can be hard, but it’s important to make it constructive to ensure the project can move forward smoothly.

To help keep your project on track to finishing on time, please provide feedback on your designs within one business day for the short projects (Simply Shopify or Essential Web Design) and for longer projects within three business days of receiving them.

I really appreciate your effort to provide files and feedback on time.

Be as specific as possible. Vague or contradicting feedback can create confusion and set us back, therefore try to be as specific as possible when providing feedback. Focus on one element at a time and try to explain why you like/dislike something and provide a suggestion on how I could improve it.

Keep your ideal client in mind. This project is of course very close to your heart but it’s important to always keep your target audience top of mind.

Try and use bullet points to break up your feedback.

Timeliness from both of us will help us get your project complete so you can move on to the next exciting task on your to-do list and I can cheer you on.

Use headers to organize your feedback.

Read over your feedback to make sure it’s clear and check that you’ve answered any questions I may have asked.

Post your feedback as a comment on the relevant Asana discussion instead of emailing me directly. Back and forth emails can get tiring but communicating in Asana is a breeze.

Click on your project to to see its' timeline and process.

If you have team members that would like to add their feedback, I kindly ask that you gather the feedback into one message. This stops everyone from getting confused and keeps the project organized.

Do I need to purchase my own domain, web hosting?

01.

The cost of your domain and web host is not included in the web design packages as it is a monthly or annual fee you will pay directly to the host provider. Shopify and Showit are self-hosted platforms with monthly fees. If your website is designed with Wordpress, you can purchase a hosting of your choosing. We recommend SiteGround, as they are a Green web hosting provider, proactively taking eco-friendly actions on 100% renewable energy.

06. FAQs

Koko-Web-Studio-Simply-Shopify-Welcome-3

Will a late payment fee apply if I don't pay in time?

02.

Yes! Please view payment policy outlined in our signed contract. Also, if any of your payments are late, I can put your project on hold as per our signed contract.

03.

Will you add the legal pages?

simplicity. clarity. transparency.

I am not a qualified legal professional therefore I do not provide all the legal policies. However, I can point you in the direction of online services that do offer or sell updated legal policies. Once you have them, I would be more than happy to include them for you in your website.

I also suggest that you have your lawyer check your site to ensure it is compliant with the policies of your country.
